What is a hot sector for 2009? Precious metals. With all paper currencies being debased, gold becomes the only form of currency not subject to the whims of a printing press. Precious metals also benefit from the fact that global central banks are determined to flight deflation at all costs. The extreme nature of their "solutions" is likely to result not just in mild inflation, but potential runaway or even hyperinflation.

What is one thing an investor should consider when picking a stock? Investors need to understand the importance of having a reason behind the purchase of a stock. If the purchase is based on a good story or sound fundamentals, there should still be a good reason as to why the stock will appreciate in value in the near future; a catalyst that will make things happen. In chemistry a catalyst is defined as "a substance that initiates or accelerates a chemical reaction." In markets, the catalyst generates a price reaction.

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy snowboarding, playing poker, hiking and traveling. Two of my favorite countries in the world are Ireland and New Zealand. Both have more than 40 shades of green, amazing scenery, friendly locals, and seemingly more sheep than people. The Cliffs of Moher in Ireland and the Fox Glacier in New Zealand are two excellent places to visit that anyone with good hiking legs should see.

What profession other than yours would you like to attempt? Professional poker player.
