With more and more customers banking online, Bank of America is planning on closing 10% of its 6,100 branches.
From CNN Money:
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Bank of America Corp. is planning to "modestly" reduce the size of its U.S. branch network over the next three to five years, according to a report published Tuesday.
A bank spokesman, James Mahoney, told Reuters that the bank's 6,109 branch-network "will come down modestly" in size over three to five years, even as the bank builds new branches.
"We do not have a plan to reduce branches by 10%," Mahoney said.
