After agreeing to hand over names of their overseas clients, Switzerland has had to appoint additional judges to its appeals court due to the overwhelming amount of appeals recently filed.
From Matthew Saltmarsh, The New York Times:
The Swiss government said on Friday that it planned to appoint up to five judges to deal with appeals arising from an agreement with the United States to hand over data on accounts at USB that the authorities suspect were used by some American clients to evade taxes.
Andrea Arcidiacono, a spokesman for the Federal Administrative Court in Bern, the final appeals court in this case, said the government had agreed to the court’s request to add up to five judges and extra support staff to its existing 72 judges to handle the expected appeals.
