Tiger Woods is Spring Cleaning His Sheets

E-mail Print

Spring is an excellent time to start something new. The idea of flowers and green grass just symbolizes the idea of promise and optimism.

It’s also an excellent time to brush off that dust of infidelity that you’ve been covered with since Thanksgiving.

The news reports are breaking that Tiger Woods is returning to the links and it looks like his first tournament will be The Masters. Some will see his quick return as remarkable, ignorant, unprofessional or just plain stupid. But, it’s important to look behind that wall – or sheet as in Tiger’s case – for the real reason of his return.

It’s all about the money!

Did you know that this weekend marks the 11th PGA tournament in 2010? Yeah, it’s the Puerto Rico Open and unless you’re the absolute golf aficionado, do you really give a damn about watching it this weekend? Probably not.

So far in 2010, the tour has presented winners with the names of Cameron Beckman and Ian Poulter. Who are these guys? Nobody knows and nobody cares, which is why Tiger MUST come back. It doesn’t matter if he wins, just as long as he makes the cut and can play through the weekend.

You have to wonder how many conversations PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem has had with Tiger or at least his connections. No doubt, Tim has been sweating bullets because sponsors, tour organizers, and – oh yeah – golf equipment manufacturers are riding him like Zorro telling him to do whatever is necessary to get Tiger back.

Well, congrats, Tim, because he’s on his way to save the day, and the tour.

If Tiger does play in The Masters, the ratings for CBS and ESPN will be lights-out through the roof. No question the advertising rates for Sunday will rival those of the Super Bowl. It makes me wonder if we will see a 30-second spot for Viagra, though.

I wish Tiger luck, but if he truly does have an addiction, I find it hard to believe he has mastered all 12 steps. Yet again, he is Tiger, and being a champion is what he does best. Mastering a 12-step program or a golf course in South Carolina seems to be his M.O., regardless of whether it’s the right thing for him personally.

P.S. You need to read this Special Investigative Exposé: The following true story will make you mad as hell. It could also make you very rich. But you must act now to avoid catastrophic loss AND ensure you have the chance to pocket $97,500 by May 2010. Here are the details on this micro-cap stock.

I believe whenver somebody supports you other than yourself you are a role model period. If Tiger has a so called problem with women than he should have never gotten married. You can't compare Tiger with previous chanps, Tiger came into the golfing arena with $40 million from NIKE beyond him, he didn't have to get in a car and drive to at least 2 diffeent tourneys a month and play overseas to pay the bills. The previous champs earned thier way to the Top, they couldn't pick and choose what they could play in like Tiger does. I have no repect for him and he should not be alloowed to play for a certain lenght of time.

Why is this guy writing about golf if he doesn't know who Ian Poulter is. He's the Limey who just whupped the asses of all his Septics in the World Championship Knock-Out. He beat another Limey, Paul Casey in the final. Septics knowhere. You'll learn more about Ian Poulter come the Ryder Cup which we'll win whether or not Tiger deigns to appear.

    Tiger should stay home

I love golf, but NEVER liked Tiger. When Tiger is playing I don't usually watch, since he is all they show. I have a lot of other favorite players that I would rather watch. Steve Stricker has always a been a favorite, and was glad to see Tiger out of the picture for a while so Steve could shine. I also think Tiger is a bad role model with his explosive temper, and sore loser mentality. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest!
